These two words sum up Grängesberg Industry AB. Experience because of our many years of involvement and in-depth knowledge of the underground industry, and innovation that manifests itself in our continuous effort to introduce new ideas and products.

Today We can proudly present the third generation of Mining and Tunnelling Equipment in both Diesel and Battery version, especially the battery version who is developed in collaboration with well-known subcontractors to meet the high demands on performance and safety.

1884 The foundation of today's GIA started this year. At first, GIA sold tools, supplies and other necessary equipment to mines and other companies in the region.

1950-60 The embryo of today's business was born in the early 1950s, when GIA began importing and selling locomotives to local mines. The locomotives were in great demand, and in the early 1960s the company decided to start manufacturing its own locomotives. Since then, GIA has steadily grown, and what was once a typical local supplier has become a company that sees the whole world as its market.

Today GIA within the area of Grängesberg is represented worldwide with approximately 90% of sales are exported. The trend continues and whenever a new mine or tunnel project is underway in the world, GIA is there. What else characterizes the products from GIA is continuous development. The ambition is to become a broad supplier of equipment for the mining and tunnelling industry with a focus on the green transition.
